The TRUTH About Skin Type: Decode Your Skin FAST

And what does 'dry skin' mean anyway?*

Hey there! We’re diving headfirst into the world of skin care problems that love to pop up just when you thought you had it all figured out. We’re not here to defy age – we’re here to rock it! We’ve got stories to tell and experiences to share, and our skin should reflect all that awesomeness. But hey, time does it’s thing, and our skin tags along for the ride. Buckle up, because we’re about to show those skin care problems who’s boss.

Dry Skin vs. Dry Skin

If you’re anything like me, you occasionally enjoy a glass (or three) of wine in the evenings. And if you’re super fancy, you know that wines can be sweet or dry.

In this case, dry means the OPPOSITE, which would be low or no sugar. Dry is a stand in word for the opposite of something… like oily skin or dry dry skin.

But wait! In skin care, dry can mean two different things. It can mean dehydrated, or it can mean low or no sebum production. Sadly, many people have dehydrated their skin badly by trying to decrease their oiliness. This just makes your skin freak out and since there is no other mechanism for moisture in your face, sebum production ramps up.

So from here on out I’ll say dehydrated or low sebum production… just to be clear.

The TRUTH about skin type

Are you ready for a truth bomb? Okay, here it is: EVERYBODY has combination skin.

Before you decide I’m crazy, hear me out. Your T-zone has more sebaceous glands than the rest of your face, which means more sebum production than the rest of your face. This area may not be considered oily, but it will still have more oil than the rest of YOUR face. Paying a little more attention your T-zone will pay off.
